Formation

In 2009 the Formation/Vocations team will be a member of the Marist Ministries Council and will work collaboratively with all other Marist Ministries.

The team is an innovation of the current Provincial and Council and comprises five members with the possibility of co-opting others when necessary.

The membership of the Team comprises four brothers and one lay person. The team members are Brs. Doug Walsh, Peter Walsh and Tony Caddy, all members of the Fitzroy (Nth Fitzroy in 2009), Rod Thomson who lives at Santa Teresa and a lay member who is yet to be appointed.

The role of the team is to be involved in a number of areas of ministry - including vocations, formation of Marists, brothers and lay, particularly those involved in Marist ministries working with young people and staffs, and the ongoing formation of Brothers in community. Another important role will be to promote Marist Consecrated Life and Marist Lay Life and mission to young people and those who collaborate with us in ministry, and to continue the dialogue and discernment about the nature and identity of the lay Marist vocation.
